COR ACQUIRES SPORTS MANAGEMENT AGENCY
COR SPORTS MANAGEMENT GROUP ACQUIRES CAROLINA SPORTS AGENCY
Acquisition expands soccer player representation business
Corona del Mar, Calif. (June 8, 2016) – As part of its continued growth, COR Sports Management Group (“COR”) has acquired Carolina Sports Agency, a soccer-focused sports management firm based in Charlotte, N.C. Founded on the same principles as COR, Carolina Sports Agency’s resources will help to solidify COR’s soccer player representation footprint in the United States.
As part of the transaction, Adam Pastore, founder of Carolina Sports Agency, will join COR as a players’ agent and his clients will amalgamate with COR’s client roster. Working under the leadership of COR President Mike Gartlan, Pastore’s skills and law background will add an additional level of service to COR’s existing customer base.
“We are looking forward to the addition of Adam to our team,” said Gartlan. “His philosophy, and reason for starting his own agency, are so closely aligned to mine, that I have no doubt he will make COR Sports Management better. We both believe the key to success in this business is providing exceptional service to our clients.”
The acquisition of Carolina Sports Agency is a first for COR and comes at a time when COR has handled multiple major moves for its players, in particular Erik Palmer-Brown’s loan to Porto FC and Luis Gil’s move to Liga MX’s Queretaro.
“I have been aware of Mike Gartlan and COR Sports Management’s growing presence in the sport for some time,” said Pastore. “They have such a great reputation for taking great care of their players, while not becoming so big as to lose sight of the personal role an agent needs to play in helping players succeed.”
Pastore earned his bachelor of arts degree summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (Pa.). He then earned a juris doctor degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law (N.C.), where he was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. He is currently a member of the North Carolina Bar Association. Pastore grew up outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. and currently resides in Charlotte, N.C.
